James and Pauline Gold welcome you to Helensborough Motor Inn. We are the first motel in Balclutha from the north as you head down the hill to cross the Clutha River into the town centre. Start your Catlins Coast adventure by relaxing in our motel where we can help make your trip a lasting memory.
We are within 3 minutes' drive of the golf course, bowling club, Information Centre and gym. Balclutha is the gateway to the Southern Scenic Route and we are happy to advise you on the best way to explore this paradise. You can also make this your base to explore Dunedin and Central Otago.
Accommodation
We offer spacious, comfortable accommodation with a choice of 12 ground-floor, self-contained units, in lovely garden setting. They all lie to the sun and we have an option of 2 double spa-bath units. There is plenty of off-street parking and it is a short drive down to the town centre, hospital, banks and swimming pool.
Activities
Balclutha is on the banks of the Clutha River and is the Gateway to the Catlins Coast and Southern Scenic Route. Take in Kaka Point which is a seaside destination with patrolled beaches in summer. Its long white-sand beaches are great and you can explore the local wildlife and spectacular scenery.
Location
20 minutes to Kaka Point plus 15 minutes more to Nugget Point, lighthouse, seals and yellow-eyed penguins. Close to town centre, Memorial Hall, Town & Country Club, Chateau Resthome, showgrounds and golf course.
